Here at ENHANCED, the premier med spa in the Boise area, we are passionate about rejuvenating your appearance in a natural way, and Sculptra does just that! Sculptra is a cosmetic treatment that is used to restore volume and improve the appearance of aging skin. It is used for facial and body rejuvenation and is often referred to as a “liquid facelift.” Unlike other dermal fillers, Sculptra does not provide immediate results. Instead, it stimulates the body’s natural collagen production over time, resulting in a gradual and long-lasting improvement in the texture and volume of the area of concern.
During Sculptra treatments, an ENHANCED provider will inject the Sculptra solution into specific areas of the face using a cannula (blunt-ended needle). This solution contains poly-L-Lactic acid, a biocompatible and biodegradable substance that helps stimulate collagen production by activating the body’s inflammation response. The injections are typically done in multiple sessions, spread over several months, to achieve optimal results. Over time, as the body produces more collagen, the treated areas gradually fill out, reducing the appearance of wrinkles, lines, and hollowed facial areas.
We want all of our clients at ENHANCED to be as comfortable as possible during all treatments. We can use a combination of topical numbing, ice, and lidocaine injections to help minimize any pain. Most say the procedure is very tolerable.
After the treatment, patients may experience some redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection sites, but these side effects are usually temporary and resolve on their own. This treatment requires some at home facial massages, which we call the 5-5-5 Rule. The 5-5-5 Rule suggests the client massage the treated area for 5 mins, 5 times a day, for 5 days in order to help work-in the product and to best stimulate collagen production.
The treatment is tailored to each individual’s specific needs and desired outcomes. At ENHANCED Medical Spa in Eagle, we highly suggest booking a complimentary consultation to go over goals and the treatment plan required to achieve those goals. Most will likely need 3-4 vials spaced out a month apart to achieve optimal results.
This treatment can be paired with most services offered by our boutique med spa, but we love to combine this treatment with other biostimulating procedures like EXION RF microneeding, microneedling with Rejuvapen, and a chemical peel.
