Hair loss, which affects both men and women, is a completely normal part of the aging process. Several factors can influence the rate at which hair loss occurs to include genetic predispositions, alopecia areata, and even elevated stress-levels. Here at ENHANCED An Aesthetic & Wellness Experience (located in downtown Eagle), we combat hair loss by using multiple modalities to optimize your results. ENHANCED restoration treatments may include platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) injections, exosomes, microneedling, and prescription foams.
PRF (platelet-rich fibrin), an all natural injectable derived from a patient's drawn blood, is injected into the subdermal level of your scalp, producing mild local inflammation that triggers a healing process promoting new blood vessel growth, enhancing circulation, and stimulating your active follicles to regrow hair. The benefit of PRF will start to show after about 6-7 weeks and should last about 2 years. Your results may vary depending on your age, the severity of your condition, genetic differences, general health and environmental factors.
Additionally, microneedling for hair restoration is a minimally-invasive procedure that involves using a device with fine needles to create tiny punctures in the scalp. The process is also known as collagen induction therapy. The tiny punctures created by the microneedling device stimulate the hair follicles in the scalp. This stimulation promotes the production of growth factors and increases blood flow to the hair follicles, ultimately improving hair growth and thickness.
ENHANCED aesthetic providers also love the healing properties of exosomes. Exosomes are extracellular vesicles that play a role in cell-to-cell communication and are known for their regenerative and healing properties. Exosomes are extremely beneficial in the promotion of hair growth and in the improvement of scalp health: stimulating hair follicles; reducing inflamation; and improving circulation, absorption of growth factors, and tissue repair.
Some patients may experience mild discomfort or a slight stinging sensation during the microneedling process and/or injections. It is important to discuss any concerns about pain or discomfort with your provider.
There is minimal downtime associated with hair restoration procedures. After a microneedling procedure, it is possible to experience some redness, swelling, and mild discomfort in the treated area. These side effects typically subside within a few days.
The frequency of hair restoration treatments can vary depending on the individual’s specific needs, the treatment plan recommended, and the desired results. To achieve optimal results, providers at ENHANCED Medical Spa recommend undergoing multiple sessions. These treatments are typically done in a series of sessions spaced out over several weeks or months. This allows time for the skin and hair follicles to recover and respond to the treatment.
Hair restoration treatment results are optimized when paired with microneedling and Exosomes.
